In this 1-day workshop, you will learn the art of Tufa Stone Casting. Tufa stone is a porous volcanic rock made from ash, found in the Jemez Mountains. It has long been used in Southwest silversmithing to create cuffs, bolos, pendants, and more. Tufa is soft and easily cut with wood saws and carved with hand tools. You can follow a predetermined pattern or create a design that is uniquely yours. No experience necessary. All material costs are included in the registration fee.
Castings will be poured in ancient grain bronze. Sterling silver is available at an additional cost.
